Our two mini-anthologies of poems about trains offer some wonderful contrasts, celebrating vivid journeys in far-off places as well as the many quieter pleasures of travelling.
Ten Poems about Trains OUTBOUND
The poems in the Outbound volume dramatise the fact that when we board a train we open ourselves up to unexpected and vivid encounters. Trains travel vast distances and know far more than we do! The poems are selected and introduced by André Naffis-Sahely, who visited many cities he hadn’t planned on seeing by simply falling asleep in his seat.
Ten Poems about Trains RETURN
The accompanying Return title celebrates the sense of freedom we experience on a train. The feeling of being neither here nor there briefly allows us to imagine other possibilities and other lives. The poems are selected and introduced by Jonathan Davidson who delights in the anticipation of the arrival of any train, and then likes nothing better than to stare out of the window as he is transported in a poetic reverie.
Join us for the Zoom launch of these two new titles which bring you all the drama and romance of train travel. Readings by the editors along with some special guest poets.
