Geoffrey Holloway
Geoffrey Holloway (1918 – 1997) was a poet and social worker. He was a pacifist but as a member of the Royal Army Medical Corps was parachuted into France on D-Day and also took part in the Rhine Landings – experiences that informed his first collection Rhine Jump. For the last 45 years of his life he lived and worked in Cumbria, publishing his last book shortly before his death. The Collected Poems of Geoffrey Holloway, edited by David Morley, was published by Arrowhead Press in 2007.
