Here you can find out more about the huge range of poets we feature in our pamphlets and the artists whose work appears on our beautiful covers.
We’ve now published poems by almost 800 historical and contemporary poets. In our pages you’ll find old favourites alongside twenty-first century voices – everyone from WH Auden to Benjamin Zephaniah. Although our emphasis is on British poetry, you’ll also find Irish, American and Australian writers.
We hope these pages will encourage you to explore further the work of a poet you’ve enjoyed in one of our pamphlets.

Martin Hayes
Martin Hayes was born in Paddington, London, in 1966 and has lived in and around the area all his life. His collection Letting Loose the Hounds was runner-up in the Redbeck Press Poetry Competition and was published by Redbeck Press in 2001, to critical acclaim.

Seamus Heaney
Seamus Heaney (1939 – 2013) was born in County Derry, the eldest of nine children. Widely acknowledged as a leading contemporary poet of his day, his ground-breaking and distinctive poetry was published from the early 1960s and won many major poetry awards, including the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1995.

John Heath-Stubbs
John Heath-Stubbs (1918 – 2006) was a prolific critic, anthologist, translator and poet who was awarded an OBE in 1988. His poetry often reflected his interest in classical mythology and history, and he was noted for his determination to remain true to his own tastes rather than following literary fashion. Although he had completely lost his sight by 1978, he continued to write until the end of his life.

Robert Hedin
Robert Hedin is an American poet who has published and edited more than 20 volumes of poetry and prose. His first poetry publication was Snow Country (Copper Canyon Press, 1975) and his most recent is Traveling Light (Goat Back Press, 2021). Much of his work is set in the landscape of the American Midwest where he is based. He has also translated the work of several Norwegian poets and edited several anthologies of US poetry.

Felicia Hemans
Felicia Hemans (1793 – 1835) was a popular and highly respected poet of her time, with a following in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Her several works include the poetry collections, The Restoration of the Works of Art to Italy (1816), The Forest Sanctuary (1825) and the poem, Casabianca, with its famous first line, ‘The boy stood on the burning deck’. She also wrote songs, prose pieces and plays. Her circle of friends included many of the Romantic poets.

Diana Hendry
Diana Hendry was born in the Wirral and now lives in Scotland. She is a poet, short story writer and the author of many children’s books. From 2008 – 2010 she was a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. She was also co-editor of New Writing Scotland from 2015 – 2017 and is currently assistant editor at Mariscat Press in Edinburgh.
