Here you can find out more about the huge range of poets we feature in our pamphlets and the artists whose work appears on our beautiful covers.
We’ve now published poems by almost 700 historical and contemporary poets. In our pages you’ll find old favourites alongside twenty-first century voices – everyone from WH Auden to Benjamin Zephaniah. Although our emphasis is on British poetry, you’ll also find Irish, American and Australian writers.
We hope these pages will encourage you to explore further the work of a poet you’ve enjoyed in one of our pamphlets.

Khiwani Deepankar
Khiwani Deepankar (1971 – 2020) was born in New Delhi but lived for many years in Paris before returning to India. His debut collection of poems, Entr’acte, was published in 2006 by Harbour Line. His poems have also featured in many anthologies including The Bloodaxe Book of Contemporary Indian Poets.

Tjawangwa Dema
Tjawangwa Dema is a Botswana-based poet who was an Honorary Senior Research Associate in the Department of English at Bristol University. Her first full-length book The Careless Seamstress (University of Nebraska Press, 2019) won the Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets. Her collection an/other pastoral (No Bindings, 2022) with illustrations and an accompanying digital archive was a Finalist for the 2022 Luschei Prize.

Joolz Denby
Joolz Denby is a poet, novelist, artist, illustrator and professional tattooist. She first came to prominence as a touring punk performance poet, although now she describes herself as a ‘spoken-word artist’. She has published several collections of poetry, including Mad, Bad & Dangerous To Know (Virgin Books, 1986) and The Pride of Lions (Bloodaxe 1995).

Carl Dennis
Carl Dennis is an American poet who has published numerous books of poetry from House of My Own (George Braziller, 1974) to Night School (Penguin, 2018). In 2001 he also published a book of criticism Poetry As Persuasion which focuses on the relationship between writer and reader. He has received many awards for his work including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Pulitzer Prize.

CJ Dennis
CJ Dennis (1876 – 1938) was an Australian poet, best known for his humorous poems. He had various jobs, including solicitor’s clerk and hotel barman. The poetic work that brought him to public attention was The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke – a love story written in slang, published in 1915. He also wrote The Singing Garden (1935) which is in a more serious vein.

Olga Dermott-Bond
Olga Dermott-Bond is originally from Northern Ireland and read English at the University of St. Andrews. She has been Warwick Poet Laureate and her poem ‘Bwbachod’s Lament’ was a runner-up in the BBC Proms Poetry Competition 2018.
