Here you can find out more about the huge range of poets we feature in our pamphlets and the artists whose work appears on our beautiful covers.
We’ve now published poems by almost 800 historical and contemporary poets. In our pages you’ll find old favourites alongside twenty-first century voices – everyone from WH Auden to Benjamin Zephaniah. Although our emphasis is on British poetry, you’ll also find Irish, American and Australian writers.
We hope these pages will encourage you to explore further the work of a poet you’ve enjoyed in one of our pamphlets.

Laura Brett
Laura Brett is an illustrator and designer based near London. Her work combines digital techniques with traditional approaches such as pen and ink. She takes inspiration from the natural world, as well as from magic and folklore. She has created covers and illustrations for some of the UK’s leading publishers.

Jan Brewerton
Jan Brewerton is an artist and printmaker, based in Devon and Shropshire. She studied Fine Art at Coventry University and at Goldsmiths College in London. Her work is inspired by the domestic environment, the natural world and by travel. She uses clean lines and bright fresh colours in her depictions of everyday objects and artefacts. She is a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen.

David Briggs
David Briggs is a Bristol-based poet, teacher and musician. He has published several collections of poetry, including Rain Rider (Salt, 2013), described as a book of ‘echoes and intricacies’. His work ranges from the personal to the political. The intriguingly titled pamphlet Vision Helmet (Maquette Press, 2016) contains a sequence of lyric poems.

Verne Bright
Verne Bright (1893 – 1977) was an American poet, as well as being a newspaper journalist and an English teacher. His work often focuses on the natural world and has been published in magazines and newspapers, as well as in his non-fiction book Mountain Man (1948) which tells how the descendants of Daniel Boone came to Oregon.

Edwin Brock
Edwin Brock (1927 – 1997) was included in the prestigious Penguin Modern Poets 8 in 1966 and was the author of several poetry collections, including Five Ways To Kill A Man (1990). He also wrote one novel and a memoir, Here. Now. Always. (1977). He was poetry editor of Ambit from 1960 until his death in 1997.

Gail Brodholt
Gail Brodholt is painter and printmaker whose work often portrays contemporary urban landscapes – places that she says often go unnoticed as people hurry through. She was born in South London to immigrant parents, her father being Norwegian and her mother from Trinidad. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers.
